Shell Assessed Internship Programme
Our internships are fully assessed and will allow you to get involved in real projects specifically matched to your interests and abilities. Lasting for around 12 weeks, you’ll receive regular and structured performance evaluations from your mentor and direct supervisor, and you’ll find out what the energy industry is really like, from the inside.
A Shell internship gives you the opportunity to:
- Build valuable networks for future career options,
- Discover potential job areas, fields of specialization or area of future study,
- Gain exposure to the energy industry,
- Work on projects that have a real business impact, and
- Put into practice the theories and concepts you have learned.
As you'll be assessed entirely on how well you perform during your internship, you could even secure an offer to join Shell full-time when you graduate - without the need for a further interview.
What we’re looking for:
You must be an actively enrolled on an accredited University programme and will complete at least one more semester of education following your internship, ideally in your penultimate year of study.
There will be specific skill requirements for your chosen internship area. But whatever your role, there are certain qualities you’ll need if you’re going to succeed at Shell.
Shell matches you into a particular role based on your skills, so you will not be required to apply for a specific internship position.
As part of our process to identify remarkable individuals, we use a competency-based assessment methodology which focuses on Capacity, Achievement and Relationships (CAR).
Capacity: We’re looking for people with the intellectual, analytical, and creative ability to learn quickly, identify issues, and propose innovative solutions.
Achievement: We want driven high-achievers full of curiosity, self-confidence and organizational skills.
Relationship: We’re searching for strong communicators who work well within a team, respect others and encourage and support colleagues.
How to apply:
You will be asked to select the business area that they would like to apply for on the Shell Assessed Internship Programme within the Application form. Shell matches you into a particular role based on your skills, you will not be required to apply for a specific internship position.
We review applications and fill roles on a rolling basis, therefore, we may close particular business areas once they are filled.
